Important Update
This bonspiel is now known as the Melitta Bonspiel of Champions. Winners in each division will now receive $4000 in cash!
Qualifying
To qualify for the event a team must have won one of the qualifying events held at a TCA member clubs throughout the year. The Melitta Bonspiel of Champions includes Ladies/Business Women, Men's, and Mixed divisions.
Each member Club can designate a qualifying bonspiel in each of the Ladies/Business Women, Men's, and Mixed divisions. These bonspiels are identified on the TCA Bonspiel Calendar as well as bonspiel promotional flyers. There were over 70 qualifying bonspiels during the 2006 - 2007 season.
The member clubs are assessed a fee of $1.50 for each participant in their qualifying events to cover the cost of the Melitta Bonspiel of Champions . This fee is normally included in the entry fee for the qualifying bonspiel. The Retirement Residences Group Toronto & District Ladies Bonspiel , the Retirement Residences Group TCA Business Women's Bonspiel , the TCA Energizer Men's Bonspiel , and theTCA Energizer Mixed Bonspiel are Melitta qualifiers.
Eligibility
To qualify for the event each team must have won one of the qualifying events held at the member Clubs throughout the year. Any combination of two or more members from any of the three winning teams are not eligible to qualify for or curl together in the Melitta Bonspiel of Champions for one year following their victory. There is no fee to enter this bonspiel.
Rules
Format
All games are eight ends. The bonspiel uses a single knockout format. Game times on the Saturday are 9:00am, 11:00am, 1:00pm, 3:00pm, and 7:00pm. Game times on Sunday are 9:30am and 2:00pm. Lunch is provided for all curlers on Sunday. You are notified by the drawmaster of your starting time and club. Contact Margaret Butler at 905-294-3434 with any questions regarding the draw or rules.
2008 Dates and Host Clubs
April 5 & 6. Host Club is Bayview Golf and Country. Other clubs will be holding games as well.

Bonspiel Report and Entry Forms
The bonspiel report is filled out in full by the bonspiel chairperson and sent to the drawmaster by email ( tca.sunshine@rogers.com). The TCA representative has copies of the bonspiel report form, letters, and forms for the winners for all your qualifying bonspiels.
