HISTORY

In 1994, as part of the Toronto & District Ladies Bonspiel, 16 Business Women teams participated. In 1998 with only 8 teams competing, the event was eliminated the following year.

In 2002, the Toronto Curling Association, in partnership with Johnson Controls, introduced the TCA Energizer Business Women Bonspiel as part of the Energizer series of bonspiels. The first bonspiel was held November 16 & 17 at High Park Curling Club. Sixteen teams participated in this two-day event. Lisa Allen and her team from Leaside Curling Club won the Main Event that year. In 2003 the event was hosted by the East York Curling Club and saw the bonspiel jump to 24 teams. It remained at 24 teams for the next three years. However, with a large waiting list, the committee realized that the event needed to grow. With a new sponsor - Retirement Residences Group, the 2007 bonspiel will see 32 teams come together to participate in one of the highlights of the fall curling calendar.
