The information on this page is designed to help new curlers to the sport get started. If you are unable to find the answers to your questions, please contact general@torontocurling.com for more information. We will update this page on a regular basis.

I am new to curling. Which club should I join?

There are 22 clubs in the TCA, and each offer many different programs that will suit all skill levels, whether you have never thrown a rock before, or have curled for many years. Several clubs offer introductory "Learn-to-Curl" programs, which last for several weeks. For a small fee, you can join these programs, and receive instruction from club members who are certified instructors from the Ontario Curling Association. If you choose to join the club afterwards, the fee for this program is deducted from your memberhsip fee.

Which club is closest to me?

Visit the TCA Club Page for direct links to club websites. Each of these sites has contact information and addresses. The listing is broken down by geographic location for your convenience. Contact a club to obtain more specific information about club fees, rules, leagues etc.

What should I wear?

Curling is a winter sport, played on an ice surface. The recommended clothing would include a light sport jacket, a sweater, and loose fitting pants/slacks/sweatpants. Ladies may prefer to wear a kilt. Jeans are not recommended, and many clubs in the TCA do not permit people to wear jeans on their premises.

The curling rink is generally cool, but not extremely cold. Several layers of clothing is recommended. Light winter gloves may be preferred by some people.

If you are new to the game, clubs will provide some tape for your shoes to use as a slider. Shoes should be flat-soled running shoes free of dirt. Clubs will be able to loan you a broom as well.

If you want to purchase curling clothing and equipment, visit our sponsor Goldline.

Does the TCA offer Corporate Packages?
